FAQs
Questions we get asked.
A few of the things people most often want to know before they pick up the phone. If your question isn't here, the quickest answer is usually a 30-minute consultation - book one here and we'll cover it in the first five minutes.
What does "independent" actually mean for an adviser?
Independent means we are not tied to any product provider, fund house, or platform. Our recommendations are based on the full range of suitable options available across the Manx and UK markets, and our advice is paid for by you - not by commission from a provider. We disclose how we are remunerated in full at the start of every relationship.
Is there a minimum portfolio size?
We don't publish a hard minimum, but the ongoing service model works best for clients with investable assets of around £250,000 or more. For clients below that, we can still help on a fixed-fee project basis - typically a one-off financial plan or pension review. The first consultation will give us both a clear view of whether we're the right fit.
How are your fees structured?
Three components, all agreed in writing up front:
- A fixed planning fee at the start of the relationship, for the initial financial plan
- An ongoing service fee, calculated as a percentage of assets under management, covering annual review and ongoing work
- Hourly fees for specific projects outside the ongoing service
We do not earn commission from product providers. The full fee schedule is in our terms of business and confirmed in every engagement letter.
Do you handle UK pensions and investments?
Yes. Most of our clients have a mix of Manx and UK exposure - UK pension schemes, UK ISAs, UK property, and so on. We hold the qualifications and permissions required to advise on UK pensions and investments alongside the Manx position, including the additional permissions for pension transfer advice where it is appropriate.
Can you work with my existing accountant or advocate?
Often, yes. Tax structuring, trust work, and estate planning typically benefit from joined-up advice. With the client's authority, we will work directly with the accountant or advocate to make sure the financial planning sits properly alongside the tax and legal position.
Are you regulated?
Greeba Wealth Management is a fictional firm used to demonstrate OLXR's Presence service. In a real engagement, we would be authorised and regulated by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority, with the appropriate professional indemnity insurance in place and the firm's authorisation details confirmed in our terms of business.
