The Problem

Most small professional and service businesses know their online presence matters. Most of them are doing almost nothing about it.

The pattern is familiar: a website built five or six years ago by a local agency, still running on WordPress, last updated when someone remembered to. Or worse - a half-finished rebuild that stalled mid-project, sitting on a "coming soon" placeholder that's been there for months. No analytics worth reading. No SEO strategy. No social presence. No one inside the firm accountable for whether any of it is generating new business.

The blocker isn't budget - these firms have budgets. It's friction. Getting a new website built means another months-long agency project, another upfront invoice, another cycle that ends with no one managing what was built. What firms actually need is a partner who takes ownership of their online presence and keeps it working - permanently. That's the problem OLXR Presence solves.

What This Means for Your Business

A well-managed website doesn't generate business directly. It removes the reasons businesses don't come to you - which is the same outcome, viewed from a different angle.

For most small professional and service businesses, this means three things in practice:

01

Your website stops undermining your reputation.

Most professional firms have decent reputations and outdated websites. The website is the thing prospects, referrals, and competitors check first - and a weak one quietly contradicts everything else you've built. A modern, well-maintained site stops the contradiction.

02

Your referrals turn into clients.

Most professional services growth comes from referrals - and the first thing a referred prospect does is look you up. A credible site turns that lookup into a confident decision. A weak one turns it into doubt. The work to gain the referral was already done; the website either closes it or breaks it.

03

You stop falling behind firms that have invested.

The firms that look most credible online aren't necessarily the biggest or oldest. They're the ones who've decided their online presence matters and acted on it. Without that, you're competing on substance against firms who match your substance and have a better front door.

Your reputation is the asset your business runs on. The website is what people see before they meet you. A managed website makes sure those two things match.

How This Compares to a Traditional Agency

Most agencies sell a project. We sell a partnership. Here's the practical difference.

Traditional Agency

  • £5,000–£10,000 upfront, then nothing - you're on your own
  • Three to four months of discovery and build
  • Disappears after launch - you manage hosting, updates, SEO yourself
  • No one accountable for ongoing performance
  • Site slowly outdates until you start the cycle again in five years

OLXR Presence

  • £2,000 setup, then £399–£899 per month
  • Four to six weeks from agreement to live site
  • Hosting, updates, SEO, and ongoing development - all managed every month
  • One senior engineer accountable for the result
  • Site improves continuously - no five-year rebuild cycle

The bigger difference isn't the price. It's that someone is accountable for your online presence twelve months from now, not just on launch day.

How It Works

The process is deliberately short - most clients move from first conversation to signed agreement within two weeks, and from agreement to a live website within four to six weeks.

1

Free scoping call

30 minutes

A 30-minute conversation. We talk through your business, your current setup, and what you'd want from the platform. You'll know whether OLXR Presence is the right fit before the call ends.

2

Limited brief

2–3 days

We produce a short scope document covering exactly what's included, the timeline, and confirmed pricing. No surprises later.

3

Sign the 12-month agreement

Same day

The commitment point. Once signed, the work begins.

4

Onboarding

~1 week

We collect your brand assets, integrations, and domain details. Your brand is set up in our systems. Google Analytics and Search Console are connected so we can start tracking from day one.

5

Build sprint

2–3 weeks

Two to three weeks of focused build. You'll see progress on staging throughout.

6

UAT and sign-off

1–2 weeks

You review the site on staging. Two rounds of consolidated feedback are included. Sign-off triggers go-live.

7

Go-live

Launch day

The 12-month term begins from the go-live date. The platform takes over from there.

After launch

Frequently Asked Questions

It's built for small professional and service businesses - accountants, law firms, financial advisers, consultancies, surveyors, clinics, and similar - who recognise their online presence isn't doing what it should, but don't want to manage another website project themselves. Typical businesses have between two and twenty employees.

WordPress sites need constant maintenance - plugins updating, security patches, things breaking when something changes. Squarespace and Wix are templates you build yourself, then manage yourself.

Presence is different on both counts. The website is bespoke (not a template) and the relationship is managed (not DIY). We build it, host it, monitor it, maintain it, and report on it.

Presence is a new service line, so we don't have a published portfolio of Presence sites yet. We're actively building it - every Presence client agrees, as part of the standard agreement, to let us feature their finished website on our portfolio and refer to the work in case studies and outreach. In return, early clients get the founder's full attention, real influence over how the service develops, and become the references future clients see.

If your business has confidentiality requirements that prevent public showcasing, talk to us in scoping - we can usually find a way to work together, but it's worth raising upfront.

No. We handle everything technical on your behalf. If you want to be hands-on - reviewing content, choosing topics, customising graphics - we'll make that easy. If you'd rather it runs in the background and the monthly report comes to you, that works too.

Yes. The website is yours. When you leave OLXR Presence - at the end of the 12-month term, or any time after - we provide the codebase and hand off hosting in an orderly transition.

The contract becomes a rolling monthly agreement with 30 days' notice. Around month ten or eleven, we'll typically discuss a refresh or any new development you'd like - improvements, new features, design updates - and how to structure that going forward. There's no obligation to extend or renew; you're in control of what happens next.

The 12-month minimum term is a real commitment, structured to make the financial model work for both sides - the upfront build cost is amortised across the year of monthly fees, so leaving early breaks the maths.

Specifically:
  • Before go-live: the £2,000 setup fee covers our build work to that point. If you exit before launch, the setup fee is non-refundable, but no further fees apply.
  • After go-live: the contract runs to the end of the 12-month term. If you need to exit early, you pay 50% of the remaining months as a settlement.
  • After 12 months: the contract becomes rolling monthly with 30 days' notice. Leave any time, no penalty.

Anything that falls outside your tier's scope is quoted separately. That typically means substantial new features, complex integrations to legacy systems, or work that requires significant engineering beyond what your tier covers. We'll always flag this upfront rather than absorbing it and resenting it later.

Things like content changes, image swaps, copy updates, small tweaks, and questions about the platform. If you ask us to add a new feature, build an integration, or do significant new work, that fits within your tier's scope or is quoted separately if it goes beyond it.

A connection between your website and a third-party service - typically a CRM, email platform, calendar, or payment processor - using their published API. Standard integrations like Stripe, Mailchimp, HubSpot, and Calendly are included on Growth and Accelerate. Bespoke integrations to legacy or in-house systems are quoted separately.

You do - it's your firm's voice, your firm's expertise. On Growth and Accelerate, we provide AI tooling that makes drafting faster (blog posts, news items, page updates), and a senior engineer reviews anything that goes through it before publishing. You always have the final say.

Presence sites are built on the same stack we use for our bespoke software work - ASP.NET Core, hosted on AWS. In practical terms: faster page loads, better security, and no WordPress plugin-and-patch cycle to manage. You don't need to know any of this to use the site - we handle all the technical layers.
