Living in Norden Heath

Wexbridge's family quarter - newer homes, good schools and the heath on the doorstep.

Norden Heath is the growing edge of Wexbridge, a district that began as a heathside hamlet and now provides the town's principal supply of modern family housing. It is unpretentious and convenient, and the heath itself - eighty acres of gorse, birch and footpaths - gives the area a sense of breathing space that newer developments elsewhere often lack.

The stock here is the youngest in our patch: 1950s and 1960s semis and bungalows on the older roads such as Hawkers Lane and Sheepfold Rise, and the popular Heathfields development of 2014-2019, where four-bedroom detached houses and three-bedroom semis change hands briskly. It is the natural first port of call for families needing space within a sensible budget.

Norden Heath Primary is rated Good and sits within walking distance of most of the area, with secondary pupils travelling the mile into Wexbridge. A parade of shops includes a convenience store, pharmacy, bakery and the doctors' surgery, and buses run into the town centre every twenty minutes. The station is ten minutes by car or a flat cycle ride.
